Putting fans' absurd promises to the test.

Playoff Promises

College football fans are a breed of their own. They’re passionate, they’re loyal, and sure, they can be a bit nonsensical at times. Especially when the stakes get high.

In the lead up to the College Football Playoff, hopeful fans put it all on the line, claiming they’ll do just about anything if their teams advance. We found those diehards and put their promises to the test.

4 teams. 4 fans. 4 Playoff Promises.

Jason: Ohio State

Jason promised to dye his hair red if Ohio State made the Playoff. He kept his promise, and in return ESPN made sure he had the perfect living room for future OSU game days.

Cam: Oklahoma

Cam promised to get an OU tattoo if the Sooners made it to the Playoff. Surprise, surprise the Sooners now have a permanent spot on Cam’s leg.
In return, we hooked him up with a permanent spot at his favorite game day bar.

Elise: LSU

Elise said she’d ride Mike the Tiger (yes, a real tiger) around campus if LSU made the Playoff. Legal asked that we reconsider. So instead of one measly tiger, we brought the full Baton Rouge experience to Elise, who’d been away from campus for a year.

Adam: Clemson

Adam said he’d do anything for Clemson. He already plays for the Clemson marching band. He does so much for the team already. The only thing we could do was transform him into star quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The resemblance was uncanny.
